It has been two years since the 2016 elections where nation-states attempted to tamper with our democratic elections using disinformation on social media. Have things gotten better or worse? Reports from the UK surrounding the December elections that domestic special interest groups themselves may have started to employ tactics used by Russian trolls in recent elections. Meanwhile the major social networks and lawmakers in Congress struggle to deal with how to manage political advertising. Our panel will look at what we know and what is being done to preserve our democracy in the Internet age.
